The console release adapted visuals, performance and content to the limits of the original PlayStation; some elements of the PC version are absent.
The later port used the more powerful console and retained the evening atmosphere, but it is still not identical to the PC build.
The heavily simplified handheld adaptation retains the basic idea, but cannot technically or materially be regarded as a port of the full PC game.
The original PC game may require compatibility settings or a community wrapper. Check the origin of the files before downloading a third-party package.
Physical discs require suitable hardware and regional compatibility; no modern official GTA 2 remaster exists.
An emulator can replace old hardware, but the user must provide their own lawfully acquired game image and, where required, a BIOS.
Unlike GTA 1 with Carnage3D, GTA 2 currently has no tested public WASM runtime suitable for this website.
