Rockstar is bringing a major reveal for the first time outside its own channels. The ‘Extended Look’ is having its premiere on Netflix and only then on YouTube — for us this means the public version comes out at 3:00 AM.

Netflix and GTA 6: what it means
When will GTA 6 be on Netflix?
On Thursday 27th August 2026 at 21:00 Czech time. Netflix has a six-hour lead – it will be publicly available the same thing on 28th August at 3:00 AM on the Rockstar YouTube channel and the game’s website.
Do I need a Netflix subscription?
To see it first, yes. Those without a subscription will wait six hours – then it will be freely available on YouTube. In two days, nobody will notice.
Is it a new trailer, or something else?
Rockstar calls it ‘Extended Look’, meaning an extended view, not a trailer. How long it will be and exactly what it will show has not been announced – and we will not speculate about it here.
Why Netflix specifically?
Rockstar has not explained this. According to an analysis in Variety, it is a signal to the entertainment industry that GTA 6 is not just a game, but an event of film premiere size. This is reading by journalists, not a statement from the studio.
Does that mean GTA 6 will be playable on Netflix?
No. Netflix has older titles from the series in its gaming selection, but there’s been no announcement regarding GTA 6. It’s simply a video premiere, nothing more.
Will it shift the release date of the game?
Nothing suggests that. It’s due on November 19th, 2026 and Rockstar hasn’t mentioned this date in relation to the Extended Look.
